DanceTake
Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 15, 2026
DanceTake is an iPhone app developed by Longwei Liu for pose-guided dance recording. This policy describes the current recording-focused version. No DanceTake account is required, and the app includes no ads, behavioral analytics SDKs, or cross-app tracking.
Camera and body-pose detection
Camera access is used for the live preview, body-pose-based framing guidance, and video recording. Pose analysis runs on your iPhone to help judge framing and readiness before recording. Analysis frames and body keypoints are not sent to a developer-operated server or used for identity recognition.
Microphone, Photos, and Files
Microphone access is used to capture room sound when recording without a reference. You can continue without sound if microphone access is unavailable. You choose reference media through Apple's Photos or Files picker; DanceTake processes the selected items, not your entire library. Saving a finished take requests permission to add it to Photos.
Local media and processing
Imported media is copied into the app's local storage so it can be reused. Recordings, thumbnails, and edited or prepared export files are also handled locally. Pose detection, source-audio syncing, mirroring, trimming, and watermark rendering run on the device. DanceTake does not upload your imported media, camera footage, or finished recordings to developer-operated servers.
Purchases and Apple services
Apple processes the optional DanceTake Pro purchase through StoreKit. DanceTake retrieves product information and verifies signed purchase entitlements to unlock or restore watermark-free exports. This can contact Apple's services. The app does not receive your card details or Apple Account password. The developer may receive sales reports provided by App Store Connect; these are not camera or pose data.
Original download information
The app may read Apple's verified AppTransaction and cache the original app version and acquisition date on the device for possible early-user eligibility decisions. That cached information is not uploaded to a developer-operated server. Keeping this record does not itself promise a discount or grant Pro access.
Saving, sharing, and system backups
Media leaves the app when you choose to save or share it through system services. Photos, Files providers, backup services, and receiving apps may sync or process those copies according to your settings and their own policies. For example, a source in iCloud may need to download before import, and a saved video may sync through iCloud Photos. Local app processing does not turn off your system backups.
Retention and deletion
Takes and imported copies remain in the app until you remove them or delete the app. You can delete recordings individually or in batches in Takes. About & Privacy lets you remove imported media copies without deleting finished takes or the originals in Photos or Files. Deleting DanceTake removes its local container; Offload App keeps documents and data. Copies saved or shared elsewhere are separate and must be managed there.
Diagnostics and support
DanceTake does not include a developer-operated usage-tracking or crash-reporting SDK. Apple may process App Store activity or diagnostics under its own policies and your settings. If you contact support, your email address, message, and any attachments are used to investigate and respond to the request. Avoid sending personal videos or payment details unless needed; you can ask for deletion of your support correspondence.
Changes and contact
This policy may be updated when the app's behavior changes; the date above identifies this version. For privacy questions or support-data requests, contact support@goodapphq.com.
